Most Indian parents want their children to know Hindi. Most Indian children's bookshelves are almost entirely English. That gap is where Hindi quietly slips away — not because anyone decided to drop it, but because the books, the school, and the cartoons all pull one way.

Hindi books for kids close that gap, and the earlier the better. A child who hears Hindi words in a parent's voice at story time files them under love and comfort, not under 'subject'. By the time school makes everything English, Hindi already has a home.
